- Chicken breast
- Cheddar cheese
- Small tortilla wraps
- Hidden Valley Sriracha Ranch
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
- Cut your chicken breast into small pieces.
- Season chicken breast chunks on either side with onion powder, garlic powder, and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.
- Spray frying pan with Pam.
- Cook chicken in the frying pan on medium/high until brown on either side.
5. Put cheddar cheese on the tortilla(s) and then place chicken on top of the cheese once it’s cooked.
6. Heat the wraps in the microwave for 40 seconds.
7. Add Sriracha Ranch on top and enjoy!
(I had green beans on the side as my vegetable because I love green beans!)
If you love Orange is the New Black, I’m sure you’d fall in love with Wentworth. It is such a great women’s jail show. Every emotion will be jerked out of you while watching this show. You easily fall in love with the characters. It’s a must watch.
This is a quirky show my mom actually told me to watch. It’s about two people in love and what they go through during their relationship. The shows are just the right length and you’ll definitely binge on this one if you like rom-coms.
3. The Haunting of Hill House
I binge watched this show during the time of Halloween this year. I was in the mood for something spooky and this did just the trick. This show isn’t really as scary as I thought it would be and it was more of a story being told throughout the seasons. It really kept my interest and I’d definitely consider watching it again if I’m looking for a thriller.
This show is sooo good. I really hope they come out with another season…or three. It’s about a town and it’s corruption and a group of kids in high school. It’s so good and not kiddish at all.
5. Girl Boss
I watched Girl Boss like a year ago but it’s one of those shows that I could easily watch again. It’s about the owner of Nasty Gal, a vintage clothing brand, and how she blew up through her blog and eBay account. It’s cute and really funny.
This past weekend was one of my close friends’ 23rd birthday! She lives in Boston and since I was home for the holiday, we decided to go up for it! My boyfriend and I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel for the night. It was such a nice hotel! I’m so mad I forgot to save the videos and pictures I had of the room. She had her birthday celebration at Cure Lounge which was only a 8 minute Uber from our hotel. The night was filled with dancing, liquor and laughs. Can’t get much better than that. Definitely a night to remember! I’ve added some pictures of what my boyfriend and I wore out that night (outfit details below) and a video of the birthday girl, of course!
In light of this past Thursday being Thanksgiving, I wanted to write about my Thanksgiving.
I am extremely thankful for everything I have in my life. I am extremely blessed and lucky to have the life I live today. I have the best parents, the best family, the best boyfriend, and the best friends. I am also lucky enough to be getting the education I am at Howard University and to be able to be graduating in December. I am loved and have never been so happy with my life than I am right now.
This Thanksgiving I made my moms famous baked mac n’ cheese. (Pictured below.) My mom cooked so many wonderful traditional Thanksgiving dishes and my aunt, uncle and cousins came over to celebrate. My favorite aunt is my Auntie Robin. She brought these amazing little cheesecake bites that had either blueberry or caramel on top. SO yummy. We all drank red wine and had so many laughs the whole day.
Overall I had a wonderful day with my family and we all really showed how thankful we all were for each other. I also added a picture of me and my boyfriend for y’all to see how cute we are together.
This past weekend my boyfriend came to visit me in DC in celebration of our one year anniversary. Being in a long distance relationship has it’s challenges, but it makes being with each other, when we can, even more special and fun. Of course I had to take him to my favorite DC spots. We went to Mimosas Nail Salon to get pedicures, ARTECHOUSE (see last post), The Diner for breakfast, Shake Shack (since we don’t have one in Rhode Island), Mi Cuba (my fav Cuban restaurant in DC), and Tysons Galleria Mall. It was fun packed weekend for sure.
All we wanted to do was go bowling…but somehow we ended up at bar. My best friend and I just wanted to do something different this past Saturday night. I tried calling a cute bowling alley in Georgetown to make a reservation but they were booked up for the rest of the night. So that was a bust. We thought we’d be able to just walk in to Lucky Strike in Chinatown, so we decided we’d try it out. We got there around 7:30 and the girl at the desk lets us know that the wait was going to be to at least 10:30. Bowling that night was no longer an option for us. We tried this really great bar close to Lucky Strike called Morris American Bar. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so sweet, personable and just a really great bartender. On their menu they literally list a drink that you can tell the bartender what you are in the mood for and they will make you a specialized drink based on your description. I added a picture of the drink the bartender made for me and it was made with cucumber, gin and mint. SO delicious. My best friend loved her drink that the bartender made special for her as well. I also added the outfit I wore out that night and it’s details!
I recently went to a birthday brunch at The Mission in DC. This place was meant for me. It serves brunch and it’s a Mexican restaurant. I think Mexican food may be my favorite overall. We had shared pitchers of bottomless margaritas (they had bottomless mimosas too!) and I ordered their bomb a$$ chicken quesadilla. This may have been one of the best quesadillas I’ve ever had! I really loved this place and outside is so cute for when it is warm outside! They have cute outdoor seating under lights and they have a huge vertical sign made of lights saying “Mission”. Super cute. Super Instagramable. I wanted to share with you guys some pictures my friends and I took at the restaurant. I will also add my outfit details below.

In 2015, I decided to do the big chop. Many girls and women do a big chop to their hair at some point in their life. When I had my hair short, it looked great to me. I really did love having short hair. Now, that my hair is more than half way down my back, I think otherwise. My hair journey was definitely a long one. I never plan on cutting my hair ever again other than a trim, but hey trends come and go. I might be bald in a year or two, who knows? What helped me the most with my hair journey was Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I swear by this oil. It completely made my curls the healthiest they have ever been and it definitely made my hair grow a lot and pretty fast!
As a kid, growing up biracial was a challenge for me. I went to predominantly white schools all throughout my childhood. I saw girls with long, straight, blonde hair and I always wanted hair just like them. Thank god for Howard University. Yes this college might make you temporarily suicidal at times, but I really believe everyone finds their confidence here. It doesn’t really matter what you look like, you will find your niche at Howard. In 2015, I was a sophomore at Howard University. I had gone through my whole freshmen year with a culture shock, but played it off cool. My freshmen year I met my best friend and she really was my professor in “How to be a Black Girl 101”. Whether it was skin care, hair care, my confidence, I can thank her for that. My hair was extremely damaged from straightening and not conditioning the right way. Before I came to Howard I would wash my hair everyday. I was a competitive swimmer all my life so I really thought I needed to shampoo the chlorine out of my hair everyday. Once I joined Howards swim team, my ladies taught me the beauty of co-washing. Now I only wash my hair with shampoo once every two weeks. My hair was so damaged so that’s why I decided to chop it all off and start fresh. This was the best hair decision for me and my hair has been the healthiest it’s ever been since I did the chop!

Yesterday, I decided to make my own Chicken and Spinach Alfredo. I literally just randomly was craving it so I went to the store and decided to make my own recipe. I rarely use recipes word for word, I usually throw ingredients together that sound good to me and start cooking! It’s more fun that way for me and I can show my creative side a little. Here is what I used in my Chicken and Spinach Alfredo!
This will make around 3-4 servings.
- 1 pound of pasta (I used elbows, but any pasta you like would work!)
- 2 handful’s of fresh spinach
- 1 chicken breast
- 1 jar of Bertolli Garlic Alfredo Sauce
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Pam nonstick spray
- Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Grated cheese
- Boil water in a saucepan big enough for a pound of pasta.
- Cut chicken breast into small pieces.
- Heat a frying pan on the stove on Medium-high and spray Pam non stick spray all over the pan.
- Add the cut chicken breast to the pan and season the top side of the chicken well with the onion powder, garlic powder, and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.
- Once the water in the saucepan is boiling add the pasta. Sprinkle salt into the water after the pasta is added.
- Once the chicken starts cooking, flip the chicken and season the other side with onion powder, garlic powder, and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.
- I like my chicken to be cooked until it’s brown on each side. Once the chicken is brown on each side turn down the temperature to low to keep the chicken warm.
- Your pasta should be done cooking now and you can strain the pasta from the water. After you strain the pasta put it back into the pan you cooked it in so it will stay warm while you make your sauce.
- Now add another frying pan to the stove. Add extra virgin olive oil to the pan and let it heat up on Medium. (If you don’t like spinach in your chicken alfredo you can omit steps 9-11.)
- Once the oil is hot in the pan add however much spinach you want in your pasta. I put two handfuls in mine which was perfect!
- Once the spinach is cooked down, you can add it in the pan with your chicken.
- Once you have the chicken and spinach in the same pan you can add the Bertolli Garlic Alfredo Sauce.
- Stir the sauce into the chicken and spinach.
- After sauce is made you can now stir it into the pasta!!
- Now, you can add a little grated cheese if you want and enjoy!!!
I know I listed those pink latex pants on my wish list a couple posts back, but guysss…I found another pair of light pink latex pants that I completely fell in love with. I bought them on Meshki (an Australian fashion brand) and it was actually my first purchase from them! I really liked the quality and my package was delivered pretty fast!
